Soft Multifocal Contact Lens

This is a relatively new concept for myopia control using soft Multifocal contact lens. Soft Multifocal contact lens do not mold the cornea as in Orthokeratology. However, it mimics the optics of Orthokeratology lenses by reducing hyperopic defocus. Various studies showed different efficacy of myopia control range from 36% to 50%

Soft Multifocal Contact lenses are used during the day and remove prior to bedtime, like regular soft contact lenses. This treatment modality is good for children or teenagers who are not candidates for Orthokeratology (Ortho-K).
